  • The reality about organic foods

Organic food, according to the Oxford English Dictionary is nothing short of food that is produced without the aid of external forces like false pesticides and manures. Non-organic food on the other hand is simply food that is not organic. Today the growth rate of the sales of the organic food is much more than the non-organic food; even though the latter's sales continue to be more. The organic food is also more expensive, but the pricing is being brought down in the view of the increasing sales which are taking place.

Today organic food is a very major part of the food business, and it has branches and systems all over the world. Since it is growing the fastest as far as the sales are concerned the market value is estimated at a whopping $11 billion. The organic food is sold with the tag that they are grown free of any external forces and with the use of only natural supplies.

Thus the picture is that of a picture-perfect farm where safe food can be found in abundance-just like an Enid Blyton story. Thus people are drawn towards organic food in as much of a psychological state of refutation against current commercial society as much as that of a desire to intake food that is healthier. However to this day there are controversies hovering around the proposition that organic food is the best.

Due to the pressure in providing more and more organic products, it is feared that the same might become bad quality-wise. There are big farmers and small farmers and it is the former that run the risk more than the latter as they are instructed to deliver consistently. Thus the farms are turned into businesses. In spite of all this, it still can not be denied that organic food is much more advantageous where the health is concerned.

Even milk which looses much of its dietary worth when it is heated, has the pro's same as any organic food as it is sold across many miles. Where the cow meat is concerned, it can be organic if the animal eats stuff that is officially maintained as under the category. Sometimes it might so happen that the greens portrayed on the covering may not meet the criteria that organic food demands according to the NOP.

In farms where all sorts of animals and birds reside peacefully, many-a-times there is no need for any drug and the animals grow on a diet of the grasses that surround them and with the help of the things that nature provides. By putting in use the natural tendencies of all these animals, and making use of the advantages of the 'nature-chain', the animals get their requisite food.

These are some things about organic food that everyone should know, and which helps people to decide whether it is indeed their choice or not..
